A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

So if you braved through this monstrosity than you know the Boo and I had our weekly date night Saturday.

We picked a random Mexican restaurant nearby (to comply with some of the stipulations on my 101 list…post on how that’s coming later) and we were pleasantly surprised. Cute, authentic atmosphere, attentive wait staff and tasty food.

2 pitchers of margaritas later we were ready to head out. Full and tipsy we stopped by the store and picked up a bottle of our most favorite champagne ever (Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin…it’ll change your life). All was going according to plan, that is, until we got home.

We walked through our door and what did we find?? THIS.

Yes, that is indeed our (my) beige leather recliner ripped to shreds, cotton pluming out of its’ orifices, crying out in pain. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!

After a little sleuthing, the Boo and I were able to determine which of the wild hounds was the perpetrator and what do you know…it WASN’T Asia, the one I’m convinced is sporadically possessed by Lucifer.

OH NO!! It was Chloe!

Sweet, innocent, fat little Chloe had taken our leave of absence as license to gorge herself on our chairs’ innards. Who would have thought?

And while I’m still a little pissed about the utter demolition of one of the few quality things I bring to the relationship, ya gotta give that sneaky beast some credit. While Asia is easily the prime suspect in any misbehavior around the house due to her crazy, wild-eyed fervor for life and proclivity to curiosity and annoyance, she’s really just the guise.

The scapegoat upon which Chloe can commit heinous act after atrocious deed and get away with it.

And hot damn if I didn’t fall for it over the last 7 months.

Well fatty, I’m on to you now. Yea, Chlo, I’m lookin’ at you.

Sorry for the chair, but what's a chair in the grand scheme of life, right? LOL x 10.

Ouch ... but look at that face! You can't stay mad at a face like that, can you? :)

I would have been mad but you can't help but laugh a little bit because they're so sneaky! is there any way it can be fixed?

And this is why we don't let our beagle Pippin roam free in the house when we're not there. Some people think we're crazy/mean because we kennel him when we're out, but we wouldn't have a piece of furniture or any shoes left if we didn't, and he'd probably have a belly full of god knows what. (Once we left him out and he managed to get back behind the couch and get into a Raid ant trap that was back there.) Poor armchair. :(

kylie - exactly why i've never had pets. but alas, that's the compromise i make by living with the boo. le sigh. the things we do for love.

margarita - i was thinking that at first but then we decided we would just toss it when we moved and hope the movers will lower our cost a bit for the lessened load. we'll see.

nache - c'est la vie.

shannon - wellllll...i might surprise you. lol

jacqueline - nah. i've resigned to just replace it when we get to charlotte. at least it gives me an excuse to buy an even nicer one!! :]

katie - i completely agree and if i had it my way that's what we'd do. unfortunately, i don't always get my way. SHOCK, i know.

wendy - mehhhh. they're alright. lol
