(Probably not but in the wistfully vain hope that someone is I proceed.)
So let’s just get it off the table now. I suck. I got a new job. We got engaged. Life is perfect and so I disappear.
I suck.
And for that, my sincerest apologies. But I’m back with a vengeance and ready to overload you with the crazy, wonderful, insanely busy world I’ve found myself in. So get ready.
First off, the ring. I know I left you all with a major cliff hanger in my last post….3 months ago. Whoops. Well I’m here to ease your anxieties and once again allow you to sleep at night. Here it is:
It’s a 1 carat Princess cut with round center stones along the white gold band. It’s sparkly and elegant and just a little bit different. And I love it. I want to take some really cool pictures with the ring like all the artsy brides out there I’m so striving to emulate these days. But alas, I suck again and have yet to actually get around to doing that.
Here’s a shot of us immediately after he popped the question. Can you tell I had been crying?
A little bubbly to toast the momentous occasion. Our server saw it all go down and was right there with the complimentary bottle to help us celebrate after.
End of our “engagement night.” I insisted on calling it that everywhere we went. In turn, everyone else (bartenders, servers, Future Brother-in-law) insisted on getting us hammered. Could have fooled you huh?
So that was the night it all changed and I can’t begin to describe the amazingness of being engaged. It’s as if our already effortlessly beautiful relationship has suddenly outdone itself. Less than 3 months since the engagement and we’ve already embraced and adapted with our new relationship status. (Judge if you will but there really is something so gratifying about changing your relationship status on Facebook.) We always said we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and now we’re solidifying that. We always dreamed that one day this would happen and now it’s a reality.
I am utterly grateful to have such an amazing man in my life who loves me for me just as much as I love him. I am ecstatic and thrilled and have yet to come down from Cloud Nine. And I can’t wait to share this incredible journey with all of you.
I’m going to make it a priority to update regularly as things progress sharing our plans, projects, and preparations for the big day. So get ready for an unhealthy amount of obsessive behavior from none other than yours truly. I hope you’ll join me for the ride!
