I Have a Confession to Make

I haven’t blogged in almost 2 weeks. And because of that I’m slowly losing followers and rapidly losing sleep.

Here’s the thing. It’s not that I don’t want to write (because I do) it’s that I feel have nothing to write about (because I honestly don’t).

(It’s called writer’s block for a reason, right?)

I feel like my voice and who I am as a writer is largely centered around the unfortunate circumstances that tend to plague my daily life and the sarcastic, sensationalized spin I put on it to make it more interesting. That’s who I am. That’s who I’ve always been.

But now things are different. Things are better and I’m happier. Oh yes, I could write about how wonderful life in the working world is, how great my relationship is going or how things are finally falling into place. But that’s not who I am. Sorry but I’m not Miss Musing. I’m not the perpetual optimist nor would I want to read something so generically positive.

So why do it? Why write?

I’m not sure where this is going but I need some advice. Should I stick around and write about life’s sudden perfection and strive to no longer be the sarcastic bitch I really am and just accept that things are wonderful? (Probably not.) Should I leave all together and be thankful for the experience? ( I don’t know.) Or do I take a time out and wait for clarity? (Which, coincidentally is what I’ve been doing in this interim and have yet to find any.)

I hope someone can shed some light on this because I’m so frustrated I’m about 2 seconds away from deleting this whole blog entirely. . .

HELP!

It Almost Cost Me My Life...

...But we've arrived.

Details to come very soon. As soon as I can find my head and reattach it...shit's crazy, yo.

(And for once I wasn't being dramatic. I really did almost die on the way here. Stay tuned.)

P.S. I missed you guys.

I'm Pullin' a Dwight Schrute Again

Question?

If you could create and enforce your own law (state or federal) what would it be and why?

Mine? Recurring driving tests throughout the years to keep your license (and keep old people and idiots off the road.)

I Got Keeeeys Comin From Over Seas. Cost a *&#*! 200 Gs!

Because I’m feeling decidedly uninspired and slightly exhausted from staring at a blank Word document with a blinking cursor, you bitches are getting bullet points.

Deal with it.

-Friday was a pretty glorious day. Packed a few more Tampon boxes worth of crap we have to move…in 17 days!!! Time is flying.

-Went to Lowes and acted like an old married couple. Adorable.

-Manipulated Sweet-talked the Boo into a couple Happy Hour drinks and appetizers at Bar Louie. Anywhere you can get out with 8 Blue Moons and an appetizer of delicious pretzel sticks with 3 dipping sauces PLUS tip for $34 is pretty awesome by my book. Nay?

-Drunkenly watched a couple episodes of The Wire at home with the Boo. (I’ve managed to convince him that we should spend 2 hours every week dedicated to watching each other’s favorite TV series. His pick: The Wire. Mine? Sex and the City. DUH!!! And guess what?? He frickin loves it. [Cue evil laughter and drumming of fingertips beneath chin])

-Saturday did a little cleaning (read: made the bed and emptied the 4 plates in the dishwasher) and then decided we should be rewarded for our hard work with some delicious crab legs and beer at the greatest seafood joint this side of the Mississippi…The Crab Shack in St. Pete. And wouldn’t you know, us crazy fools didn’t discover it till 2 weeks before we move away forever. Story of my life.

-Drinks and Facebook harassment to everyone on someone else’s friend’s list = nonstop hilarity (and an unwanted Facebook page in the morning. The Boo finally gave in and made one in his drunken stupor. [Cue evil laughter and drumming of fingertips beneath chin again])

-Spent all of Easter Sunday in bed watching the Master’s AND witnessing the most checking of a Facebook page I have ever witnessed in one day. I think he may have a problem.

How was your weekend? And what’s your favorite Sex and the City episode? (I have a feeling after this post the Boo will try and buck the system to salvage his masculinity but I need to reassure him there are good things ahead. Which, hello?? There SO are. It’s SATC for Christ’s sake.)

On Some Random Nonsense

1. As of late (yesterday) I’ve taken to calling the Boo by his middle name. Payne. Yes, that’s right. As in P-A-I-N. If that’s not the coolest f*ckin name on the planet then I don’t know what is. I have daydreams of how magnificently that middle name could come in handy when faced with an enemy. “I’m about to bring the PAIN on your ass. Cause that’s my middle name, son!” Not that he’d ever be that lame to use such a line. But in my revisions of future said story he most certainly will.

2. Totes ma-gotes has got to be the most awesome phrase ever invented. It just sounds kick ass. I laid awake in bed last night just saying “Totally…totes ma-gotes” over and over in my head and getting a little chuckle every time. Oh, Paul Rudd how I love thee. (And for the record, no I have not seen I Love You, Man despite the raving reviews I’ve read it received. Nay, I’ll just wait a few months years till it hits DVD and goes to Blockbuster and eventually makes its way off the “New Releases” perimeter and into the gaping abyss of a cluster f*ck that comprises the middle aisles of movies everyone’s already seen or hates. I call it frugality. And no, I’m not Jewish.)

3. Have you seen this?? I think you should. (Click the link you stubborn bastard. Do it. Quit being so GD lazy!!) If you try and tell me that’s not the funniest thing ever I will slaughter your first born. That’s a fact. (And I know I posted about it back in October or so but let’s be honest, I had no readers then so guess what, it’s happening again.)

4. Danny Gokey sings like baby Jesus. Sweet, six-pound 10 ounce baby Jesus. And it is BRILLIANT. I don’t care what you say about him I am SOLD. That sweet, widowed church boy has got some mother-f*cking pipes, yo. (And look, enough with the Adam obsession, ladies. I mean, I get it. He sounds like Freddy Mercury. You could probably share the same skinny jeans and eyeliner. But please, the man is clearly gay and any delusions to the contrary are just that…delusional. Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay, not in the least. All I’m saying is spending your days pining away for Mr. Lambert to make sweet love to you whilst serenading you with a sitar infused lullaby and simultaneously fathering your children is a far-fetched fantasy that’s never going to happen. So give it up.) But back to Danny. You wanna know what the best part about this kid is? “Gokes” (as I so lovingly refer to him) kinda rhymes with “Totes ma-gotes” and that is the crazy link that set this blog train o thought a chuggin.

Genius.

Wanna See Me Make a Fool of Myself?

So I'm posting this even though the Boo told me I shouldn't. I fully realize and apologize in advance for saying "umm" fifteen hundred times, looking up incessantly and making weird freakish movements with my mouth. But alas, I'm too tipsy and lazy to start anew. So you're stuck with take one. Enjoy!

Edited to add: When I say I'm posting from the bathroom because"the Boo would fuck me up" otherwise, I didn't mean physically Bobby Brown style fuck me up. (Homie don't play that, yo.) All I meant was that he would be making fun of me for being such a nerd that he'd fuck up my concentration and make me have to do it over again. Just wanted to clear that up. Ha!

Purse Puke

Awhile back I got tagged by … ummm… someone…(sorry, I scoured my comments for a good 10 minutes looking and couldn’t find who it was. My bad. Crucify me.) to do the super nosy, super embarrassing purse invasion blog. So today, while I was complaining to the Boo about having no inspiration lately, I decided I could just dump the contents of my life on the floor and let you all see it.

So here it is…present from the Boo back in December.

And a view from the top. Yes, it’s a bit heavy but I like to be prepared. Plus I like to convince myself that I’m getting my workout for the day in by lugging this thing around everywhere. (See? That’s the delusional thinking he was referring to. I do it all the time.)

And here’s what’s inside.

From top to bottom, left to right:

First row: My spiffy new planner (I usually have much bigger, bulkier ones but this one is working just fine for now. Ya know considering I have no job, already graduated school and have next to zero friends, the little one suits me just fine. For now.) “Tulle Little, Tulle Late” by Kimberly Llewelyn (just one of the many new super girly books I snatched up at the library yesterday to get me out of my most recent funk.) My newest issue of Harper’s Bazaar that is pretty much COMPLETELY RUINED (stupid post office woman ripped the entire cover and first 5 pages trying to cram it into our mailbox. Whore.) A napkin note between the Boo and I. (We’re mature…as our illustrations can attest to.)

Second row: Aldo wallet from sister dearest, checkbook, pens and 1 pencil, Hall’s menthol cough drops (because I’m coming down with something ghastly. Hooray!) Germ-X hand sanitizer, Excedrin Migraine (because I’ve had a perpetual headache since I was 7 years old. No lie.) Eye drops (never mind the fact that the front label is completely ripped and defaced. I used to carry it with me in my apron at my old serving job. Ya know, for putting it in asshole’s drinks that give me attitude and piss me off my eyes. Duh.) Stupid death sticks. (I contemplated not even including these in the picture since I’m down to maybe 1 a week, but then I figured I wouldn’t be keepin it real so I threw em in there. Don’t judge me.)

Third row: Headphones for my iPod, aforementioned iPod, Blackberry Pearl, keys, Mary Kay lipgloss in Cream and Sugar, MAC lipgloss in Chai, 2 very used up, practically empty tubes of Bonne Belle Cappuccino lipgloss (Don’t even laugh. Everyone knows the cheap shit is where it’s at.) Chapstick medicated, a hair clip, Prada sunglasses.

Not pictured: The digital camera I took the pictures with (duh) and my lady products (no one wants to see that.)

Well there you have it. Now I tag anyone who wants to do it or needs some inspiration for a post (like me). Plus I’m a nosy creep and I want to see what you’re stashin’ in there.
